What was so long whispered has now boomed into the public sphere! Menstruation has made public appearance in courtrooms and classrooms alike. Sanitary napkins dotted trees, walls and notice boards seek attention and are determined to be acknowledged.
The Red Cycle is a menstrual awareness campaign, involving only students, that aims to address various facets of menstruation by knowledge-sharing and action. Through on-line forums and off-line classes The Red Cycle has been challenging the taboos, social stigma and misconceptions associated with menstruation and is educating women and men on the biological process, importance of menstrual hygiene management, alternative menstrual hygiene practices and related environment issues.
